Paid Intel fans bash AMD

Newegg.com is a large online e-tailer selling mostly high-tech stuff, including CPUs. The site has a comments function which allows customers to post opinions about a product. There were a lot of negative messages about the Phenom processor. Interestingly, recently Newegg decided to show whether the poster of the comments have actually bought the product. And, surprise! Most of the bashers had not. Like this one:

Pros: Finally, a quad from AMD.

Cons: L3 Cache errata. This doesn't even break up an Intel Q6600 quad core.

Other Thoughts: AMD will have a fix for this.

Intel marketing is good.

The OLPC is one of the greatest innovations in human history. Look at these happy school kids in Uruguay, they will grow up smarter with AMD64 (with Opteron as server platform) and Linux, they will learn coding in Python and other languages.

Some idiots say why not give them $200 worth of bread, instead of a $200 laptop. This is like asking why spend money on public schools -- the money spent on each kid is enough to feed a person from childhood to death. Do the math, if a public school spends $5000 on a kid a year, that is enough money to buy 5000 pounds of junk food to feed a kid for 10 years.

Intel copied everything from AMD

Hector Ruiz said it right. The INQ says Intel made money and AMD lost money. Of course, a copycat like Intel makes money, because it just steals the R&D from AMD, saving vast amounts of investments. AMD, on the other hand, did all the hard research work.

But all that will change soon. Once K10 ramps up, Intel is finished.

A lot of people are saying AMD's K10 chips are clocked too low. But, clockspeed is not AMD's problem. AMD's problem is capacity. Once AMD has the capacity, Intel will simply BK. Laying off people is not enough for Intel to survive. Intel's primitive copy-exact methodology of manufacturing is the rope that will hang itself.
