Another 40,000 core super computer sold

SuperMicro claims that it sold another supercomputer.

If AMD can't supply their partner *IBM* with these things, how long do you imagine its going to take Supermicro to deliver these?

Not this year I can assure you, probably not Q108 either...

Good for them for selling it, too bad they'll lose the contract because they can't deliver it....

Relax; everyone knows the Woodcrest has been the cpu of choice for supercomputers. The point is the K10 is now able to compete and seems to be gaining in popularity with scientist around the world.

Even if AMD made the best, most affordable processor in the history of computing, I'd still have a hard time convincing myself to buy one... Sharikou is a major turn-off. I bet somewhere in some AMD office they're plotting to kill him. They know their stuff isn't top-notch at the present, but damn... they don't need this fool making them look dumb.

intel proc are very good for porn industry. no scientist would use their supercomputer for encoding porn, they use for crunching data only with amd proc.
