Overall, Intel is about 6 years behind AMD in processor architecture. Ratty says his Israeli engineers lack originality -- I predicted that it would take Intel engineers 5 years to figure out the Opteron manual... The retards took 6 and we are not even sure Nehalem will work. Right now, Intel has 500 chip designers spending sleepless nights digesting AMD PDFs as they have been doing for the past 5 years. I suggest Hector to block Intel from accessing AMD PDF documents.

First of all, NHM is 2008, and not 2009. Second, notice the 4 links per MP CPU? That makes NHM more like DC 2.0--something AMD won't launch for quite some time.
Third, CSI like will have 6.4 GTS*20bits*2directions/8bits=32GBytes/S bandwidth--almost 5times that on the AMD foil. So stop comparing CSI with pathetic HT 1.0. In fact HT3.0 will look anemic in front of CSI.
Additionally CSI will probably have many more advanced RAS features that AMD can only dream of. Read David Kanter's article on CSI.
Oh I forgot! You really don't have a PhD, so you won't be able to read
Kanter puts CSI at 4.8 to 6.4 GTS. Even at 4.8 GTS, 20 bit CSI will have 15% more bandwidth than 5.2 GTS HT 3.0. If Intel really achieves 6.4 GTS, it is game over for AMD.

Intel got lucky. There were several companies in the running for the IBM-PC. Intel just created the first single 4 bit solution, NOT the first microprocessor.
And in case you didn't now, Jerry Sanders and Gordon Moore both worked for Fairchild Semi, the actually creator of the microprocessor.
So without that company neither AMD nor Intel would exist.

That's not what the article said. It said VOLUME RAMPING, not ANY PRODUCTION. AMD showed off 45nm SRAM wafers months ago.
That means they won't be above 30% with 45nm before 2009.

CPUs The Inquirer links to this page linking to new Spec scores for a 2.5GHz quad core Opteron setup. It pits the Opteron 8360SE verus the Xeon X7350 running at 2.933GHz. The overall SPECfp_rate2006 is 113 for the Xeon, and 160 for the Opteron. For SPECfp_rate_base2006 the Xeon gets 106, and the Opteron gets 149.
