Paul O almost fainted seeing this video

Trinity power: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsmTDb-Mlws

AMD says DX11 2.0 is hard, very hard.

That's why Intel had to fake it. See the infamous video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otcge1cn8Os tick tsk tick tsk ....

I guess it would be Apple's loss if they don't use AMD APUs in MacBooks.

Intel is mostly obsolete. Only the old and uninformed stick to Intel. The rest will use AMD's 8-core technology.

One reader posted a message saying Intel has a dual core 3GHz i7 at 17watts. That is almost laughable. The AMD Trinity has 4 Piledriver cores and 400+ DX11 v2 capable graphics cores. There is no comparison. The AMD APU has 10x more compute power.

PS: Reading the low IQ comments by the Intelers reminds me one thing that I have and Pat Gelsinger's mother wanted her son to have: a Ph.D. degree.

Sweet!

So now that AMD bought their way into a graphics core that doesn't suck, maybe they can go back to trying to build CPU's that don't suck?

Maybe?

By the way, epic AMD hardware shortages is what caused Cray to go nearly bankrupt in 2011. Apple knows better than to go down that road; AMD has no chance there at all.

amd just can't be trusted, it's proved in time!
What is this "power envelope", why there isn't TDP specification? the answer is pretty clear and sounds familiar!

I'm not convinced of AMD's claims of the 17W processor having that capacity. The most power-efficient quad-core APU they have is the Llano setup that consumes 45 watts, and you mean to tell me they're going to move to the power-hungry Bulldozer platform while keeping the power-hungry VLIW5 graphics unit ... And then somehow cut power consumption by two thirds?

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's highly unlikely given AMD's current track record and their use of standard library modules versus custom logic for gate routing.

Oh, you mean much like Cray, having late supplies, recently dogged by heat issues and now is moving towards Intel because they leaned too much on AMD's broken promises? Or was it lies?

Yeah, big loss for Apple... You are such a retard. AMD would have sunk MacAir sales because of the stupid power, heat and supply problems by now!

Btw, the video didn't specifically say "17w" and was mixing quite a few terms. Whether it's Intel or AMD, the hype moves on.

At least it's already proven with a working sample that Intel can do DX11...

The fact is, there weren't really any Intel Fanbois until idiots like Sharikou started distorting and manipulating facts that tried to pump AMD up years ago.

Intel fanbois were borne out of being so fed up with these people muddying up the objective arena.

I mean, this Sharikou's pretentious claim of having a PhD (of what? pottery?) is proof enough that he is a lying fraud. Even AMD admirers keep their distance, well, maybe not, Shari's still an Imbecile that's good for laughs.

Don't be funny - the dx11 isn't big issue at all!
the big issue here, is that intel hasn't any real competition on the cpu market, and as a consequence - high prices.

I'd rather that AMD had better performing products NOW and sucky ads rather than the other way around.

We need competition and I am so fed up with tweaking my 8150 just to get "better" performance and why it periodically locks up my 10-bit vdub encodes. Something about task contention.

And please, to those fanbois, stop posting cherry-picked benches that the usual Joe Gamer and YouTube Poster don't normally use and claim it's da best! I wish I got an OC'ed 2600K instead, faster and cheaper too!

And what really bugs me is how hot this thing gets!

But I'd rather insult Sharikou/Penix just to drive the fact home that he has lost all respect (did he ever have one?) a long long time ago.

Clearly, the purpose of this stupid, useless blog is for trolling.

Nobody cares what this POS says. Everybody just gets amused by his obvious lack of knowledge and intelligence on the matter.

Sharikou obviously gets some sort of high (sexual?) on anything demo and press release and cares very little on the actual reviews, probably because it requires real critical thinking and comprehension to get anything meaningful from it. Something he clearly is incapable of.

I also notice that he does not seem to be reading his sources in its entirety and just skims until he finds small tidbits that agrees with his worldview. I feel sorry for Sharikou if his behaviour reflects the real-world person.

And 4 Piledriver "cores" ARE 2 REAL cores, which BTW (you likes such abbrev.) is MEDIOCRE DESIGN! the number of cores is insignificant at this point and obviously doesn't helps to amd very much against Nvidias superior xPU architecture, BTW :)

Sharikou's rebuttal is a not yet released, surely delayed AMD part and masks the AMD hype between modules and cores.

Given that the bottom line TODAY is that 4T AMD < 4T Intel.

Didn't Sharistupid say the Bulldozer will TOTALLY crush Intel? With the typically AMD hype that he's pushing like the Barcelona? Or how the Phenom will be like two-digit-% faster?

He keeps repeating history and never learns. Well, maybe that is what a Troll (a dumb one at that) is all about.

Workstations with dedicated Radeon GPUs with CPU's that performe (ie NOT AMD CPUS) - fine - workstations based on APU's - have fun with that...

BaronFagtrix or Sharikunt or both sucking each other off...all else being equal they're both fucktards with little to no technical ability beyond what they regurgitate from AMD's marketing departement, which has been proven to lie just as much as Intel used to with the P4....so go lick each others tiny dicks you two and let people with real tech ability discuss what they understand and you only think you understand...

My predecessor bought more than 400 PCs with 3.06GHz Celerons because he bought into Intel propaganda...oh, the pain waiting 3-4 MINUTES for word to open document

Only 3 PCs worth saving from that period are all based on AMD BE-2300 Brisbanes, working on mere 1.9GHz...still working like a charm

1:42 AM, January 17, 2012
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, the P4s where real dogs. But the point was Intel learned how to build better CPUs after that. When did Intel make a repeat of Netburst?

AMD, on the other hand, did a Barcelona, TWICE. And both were heralded by propaganda that many followed. How many were burned by the fact that they had to actually slow down the Phenom to avoid a hardware bug? How many people had to tweak BD just to make it perform acceptably faster?

Looks like the company that learned never again to repeat the same mistake is Intel.

Whither Piledriver? Let's be honest, it's still the same hype at the moment, same hype that brought the Barcelona and the Bulldozer... Do you see a pattern there?

Yes Netburst was a dog, a POS. But it never happened again, did it?

Did the new patch for my 8150, big disappointment, just a few percent uplift, really shattered by the high expectation. Does not do much to the apps I actually use. But I suppose it's better than nothing.

What broke the camel's back for me is that although it OCs better than my PII, there really is not much performance difference and some parts the PII even wins especially on Game. Encoding was good, not great, but who does that everyday????

Really disappointed AMD. So freakin disappointed. Last time I will listen to hype and more on trusted reviewers.
