One reader posted a message saying Intel has a dual core 3GHz i7 at 17watts. That is almost laughable. The AMD Trinity has 4 Piledriver cores and 400+ DX11 v2 capable graphics cores. There is no comparison. The AMD APU has 10x more compute power.
PS: Reading the low IQ comments by the Intelers reminds me one thing that I have and Pat Gelsinger's mother wanted her son to have: a Ph.D. degree.

I'm not convinced of AMD's claims of the 17W processor having that capacity. The most power-efficient quad-core APU they have is the Llano setup that consumes 45 watts, and you mean to tell me they're going to move to the power-hungry Bulldozer platform while keeping the power-hungry VLIW5 graphics unit ... And then somehow cut power consumption by two thirds?
I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's highly unlikely given AMD's current track record and their use of standard library modules versus custom logic for gate routing.

I'd rather that AMD had better performing products NOW and sucky ads rather than the other way around.
We need competition and I am so fed up with tweaking my 8150 just to get "better" performance and why it periodically locks up my 10-bit vdub encodes. Something about task contention.

AMD, on the other hand, did a Barcelona, TWICE. And both were heralded by propaganda that many followed. How many were burned by the fact that they had to actually slow down the Phenom to avoid a hardware bug? How many people had to tweak BD just to make it perform acceptably faster?

Did the new patch for my 8150, big disappointment, just a few percent uplift, really shattered by the high expectation. Does not do much to the apps I actually use. But I suppose it's better than nothing.
What broke the camel's back for me is that although it OCs better than my PII, there really is not much performance difference and some parts the PII even wins especially on Game. Encoding was good, not great, but who does that everyday????
Really disappointed AMD. So freakin disappointed. Last time I will listen to hype and more on trusted reviewers.

The Trinity chip on display was not the 17W version, but was instead the "mainstream" version (which equates to either the 35W or 45W profile per AMD's own specifications.)
