Intel is mostly out of Supercomputing

Cray has four lines of computers, the XK6, XE6, XMT and the CX1000. The XK6, XE6 and XMT are giant machines with > 100,000 AMD Opteron CPUs. The CX1000 is just a small box for mom and pop shops.

Intel technology seems to be not only ill suited for enterprise computing, but also not tested for supercomputing.

The lesser educated may beg to differ. They say like AMD, Intel has four machines in supercomputer top 10-- number 2, 4, 5 and 7. AMD machines ranked 3, 6, 8 and 10.

But look closer. The so-called Intel machines actually rely on Nvidia's Fermi GPGPUs for their compute power.

Cray expects to double its revenue in 2012, on the strength of Bulldozer.

Hey lying sack of shit. Did you think you could turn over a new leaf and not end up humiliated?

Let's take a look at what you posted on AMD's Yahoo Message Board.

href="http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_A/threadview?m=tm&bn=893&tid=1925783&mid=1925783&tof=1&frt=1"http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_A/threadview?m=tm&bn=893&tid=1925783&mid=1925783&tof=1&frt=1

You tried to backpedal but were caught in your lies, including the lie that you have on this new post where you claim Intel has less systems on Top500 than the ones you mention it does. Reposting that excerpt here.

LOL!

Notice how Sharifuck moves the Goalpost from his (1) OPENNING POST of Cray being exclusively AMD (which was flatly debunked) to (2) AMD having the majority (again debunked), to (3) saying Intel uses NVidia compute more than AMD (which is flatly wrong, the AMD Cray has more paired NVidia compute-nodes-per-socket grouping than Intel) and avoided the fact that Cray is using NVidia and NOT ATI/AMD parts. Also, I believe he does NOT KNOW or even UNDERSTAND that the high FLOPS (double-precision) measurement are largely based on the GPU compute cores and not the CPUs. AMD 0, NVidia 1.

Reference links available from Cray at the mentioned Yahoo address above. Shari/Penix, I suggest you read (and understand) the articles you cite in its entirety to avoid corn-fucking yourself. Then again, you ARE a troll, you might be doing it for some sort of perverted high.

Sharikou, aka Penix: you're running out of troll materials. Your futile (and sorry) attempts to salvage your AMD stocks are over. I understand these are hard times and you probably need to pay your mortgage and broadband bills but you have to get off that seat and do something intelligent and productive. Stop this imaginary PhD bullshit and get some professional help. You are making yourself more and more of an idiot in front of everyone else. Is this the kind of life you wanna live? I am now convinced that you are truly getting some sort of sexual satisfaction in being seen as an idiotic imbecile, I hate to imagine what your cream-splattered SVGA screen looks like!

You self cornholed and further submerged yourself in your lie. I am now going to make you pay for it and not let you live it down, fukstick!

Cray IS leaving AMD because of the poor performance and delays. You are just Trolling, again.

(1) Cray is dumping HyperTransport for serial PCIe 3+ in preparation for being MOSTLY Intel come Q3.

(2) YOUR CLAIMS of NVidia Compute is actually MORE on the AMD systems on the above links.

(3) Why DIDN'T Cray choose AMD for their GPUs? Hmmmm...

And here's where your LIES and Deception comes clear. Even Cray's Press Release DID NOT even mention AMD at all. It was because of AMD that they were in the red for last year because of the delays and its because of their planned greater use of Intel did they update their forecast for a better 2012.

What an obvious troll. I'm sure Penix will make another stupid statement soon...

Fact: AMD screwed Cray TWICE now:

I agree that Cray is moving away from AMD. AMD's delays also prompted Cray to change their top-of-the-line to using Ivy Bridge, the least of their reason being that IB uses significantly less power than the Opterons. Plus the fact that while IB's performance scaling is less than Bulldozer, the performance-per-thread, is much higher. And the overall performance/power/price triangle is even better.

It's funny how Sharikou claims that Cray is exclusively AMD, and he calls us "lesser educated":

http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_A/threadview?m=tm&bn=893&tid=1925783&mid=1925783&tof=8&frt=2

(and don't think we don't know that you are also ra39999 at the Yahoo forums)

Sharikou, aren't you embarrassed of your stupid trolling and calling people who are obviously more informed than you, uneducated?

You covered the entire Bulldozer/AMD product range, starting from the cheapest, with each one being proven either wrong or trolling. We're now at the top of the product line, where to next? Existential computing? I heard AMD's chips are also delayed there as well.

Don't you get it? Many people bash AMD because of YOU. They don't really hate nor wish ill of AMD.

You are just a sad, pathetic person.

And look closer, their AMD system does the EXACT SAME THING TOO with their current offerings!

And why is Cray Exclusively NVidia?

You're a true Internet Town Idiot. And the sad part is that I believe you enjoy these comments, why else would you make up these stupid posts?

AMD has been disappointing Cray for months now and is the cause of Cray's revenue woes. And now the "Linux Ultramonster" from Intel is going to be the flagship for 2012. 2012 is also the last year for HyperTransport.

Letting the enthusiast down is one thing AMD, disappointing a major partner is another:

Shari,

How come you won't answer you cell when it rings?

I can't help to think whether I did something wrong.

I have introspected for a while but I have no clear answers.

Did I penetrate you too hard? Too fast? Not fast enough?

Did you swallow too much? Was it too warm? Too cold? Too viscuous?

You always asked for more, and I gave you all you asked.

Is Baron inside you? Or are you inside him?

Why won't you answer my calls anymore? Please, won't your answer?

I need you. I miss you.

Hey guys. You're doing it all wrong. Sharikou/Penix are true trolls and you are the ones entertaining them by feeding them with attention.

Don't worry, steps are being made with an alternative site so you can totally leave this utter trash of a site! Completely leaving the site of trolls is the worse thing you can do to them.

What, you doubt my PhD? Intel is hemorrhaging money, and probably secretly sabotaged AMD so they made delays in shipping Opterons for Cray.

AMD should sue them.

Sharikou,

Prove to us that you have a Ph.D. from an accredited university.

Who was your professor?
What was your thesis?
When did you defend it?
Where are you published?

Let's see it. The world is waiting.

Pretty simple. You either have it or you don't.

If you don't respond or respond ambiguously, you will be proven to be a lying fraud.

Think you can avoid answering?

Charade is over, fvckstick.

No matter how much you pump this POS here or on the Yahoo AMD message board or on Investor Village or in all of the other places where you circle jerk with your lies, you will always be Mumbai slum fragged clown child.

LMFAO.

Shari, I think you menat to type that "AMD is mostly out of Supercomputing thanks to continuous delays in product releases and substandard performance", right?

http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2012/01/05/cray_q4_whacked_by_amd/

Cray's Fourth Quarter Whacked by AMD

Cray is going to miss its revenue targets for the fourth quarter, the company warned Wall Street this morning before the markets opened, and it has pointed its finger (without naming names) directly at its main processor supplier, Advanced Micro Devices, as the cause of the miss.

For the past several years, Cray's sales for the year have been heavily weighted toward the fourth quarter and dependent on the shipment and qualification of machines either using new Cray interconnect processors, new processors from AMD, or both. This time around, Cray had its own XE interconnect chips all lined up and it was AMD's delayed launch of the 16-core "Interlagos" Opteron 6200 processors that caused a traffic jam as Cray tried to sell, build, and qualify some monster clusters so their revenues could be booked in the fourth quarter.

In a statement, Cray said that system acceptances "were adversely impacted by further supply issues related to a key component," and with all of the other elements of the Cray XE6 system shipping – the system boards, interconnect chips, and operating environment – the only piece that was delayed was the Opteron 6200.
