This market segment is the last one AMD still has command of in terms of overall performance: Gaming Graphics. While video and photo editing is becoming more mainstream, the CPU side should not be ignored as AMD seem to be doing.
The good news is that, since AMD is leaving the desktop market for the performance mobile segment, they can now focus more of their limited resources to this growing market.

Funny - I have 200+ HTPC's in a production residential environment that do 1080p just fine, all using intels IGP, not a one has any issue with 1080p, streaming or local playback.
So, your "analysis" is, again, flawed you fucking lying stack of shit. You are a complete idiot.
Is AMD's IGP better - absolutely - but no serious gamer in their right mind uses an IGP for anything. So no one in that segment gives fuck one about an IGP's performance.
With regards to the HTPCs using Intels IGP - when the subject of using AMD's substandard processors came up the engineer that suggested it was laughed out of the room...graphic's wise maybe a better choice but sustainability and reliability and *overall* performance wise, AMD doesn't even come close anymore...
AMD is on its way out as a relevant player in the, get used to the idea. It's a shame, yes, competition is good and necessary, but realistically they're done...
As a serious gamer, I wouldn't even consider IGP. HTPC using Llano is just fine but I also do video editing using Vegas and various encodes (Virtualdub et al) since I do subs and MKV packaging including the newer 10-bit codecs for our Anime club. And because of that, both IPC and Mutithread CPU performance is important and that's why I use Intel + discreet Radeon.

FACT: Sharikou does own AMD stocks. He has been clamouring the advantage of having it since 2005 and has had the illusion that he can influence people from buying said stock.

I had to comment today, just to say that I really enjoy this blog. I almost visit every day that I'm at work, usually on a break or at lunch with my door closed so that I'm not interrupted. And near-always, I enjoy the content posted.
But I must also be clear: I love reading this site for the same reason I love reading the Sunday comics: It's irreverent, sometimes incoherent, usually more fun if you "hear" it in your head with a silly voice, typically has some underlying current of real life but always combined with some quantity of comedic spin, and usually at least one elicits a guffaw or teehee or snicker.

Back to the subject. I built a sweet llano rig with the skeleton 90 case. Been having hiccups with the 10-bit 1080p playbacks but really minor niggles. Just wish the power consumption was smaller and even with an open case, the rig ran quite hot.

I'm pretty impressed with AMD's Southern Islands / Graphics Core Next leaks that I've seen so far; that's about the most I can say about my happiness with their desktop products.
Llano is pretty decent for a laptop platform, I'd likely prefer a Llano laptop than an equally priced i3 or cheapo i5 system. At that range, IGP's become more interesting because you aren't paying for the separate GPU.
But once you cross the ~$800 threshold, Intel SB laptops with a separate GPU (NV or AMD) make more sense and provide far better performance. I'm not a big fan of Crossfire or SLi, mostly because multi-gpu systems have scaling problems no matter which side you go with.
A single faster card is more interesting than Llano trying to hybrid-crossfire with my secondary graphics chip for that reason.

Notice how Sharifuck moves the Goalpost from his (1) OPENNING POST of Cray being exclusively AMD (which was flatly debunked) to (2) AMD having the majority (again debunked), to (3) saying Intel uses NVidia compute more than AMD (which is flatly wrong, the AMD Cray has more paired NVidia compute-nodes-per-socket grouping than Intel) and avoided the fact that Cray is using NVidia and NOT ATI/AMD parts. Also, I believe he does NOT KNOW or even UNDERSTAND that the high FLOPS (double-precision) measurement are largely based on the GPU compute cores and not the CPUs. AMD 0, NVidia 1.

Cray is moving to PCIe 3.0 and away from AMD's HyperTransport, getting ready for the newer Xeons in Q3 2012. Cray was bogged by Opteron shortages in the past (2007) when Hector decided to buy ATI and strained AMD's foundries to keep up with Opteron demands. And now Cray's losses are due to another string of Opteron delays. They have decided there will no longer be a third time. I bet Sharidumb will spin this an an Intel bribe, oh, wait, he already has.

Since none of your office PC's are probably running anything more intense then Word or straining the GPU on llano cpu in any way shape or form. I'll state factually you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
If you deployed these machines for any purpose other than light office applications (video editing, anything more than base photo editing, game development, etc) then I'll further state factually that you're a moron in the first place for putting AMD's garbage in a production office environment since the CPU performance is crap. He's most likely making that up, having 120 Llanos for the office. That's because the lower-end SBs are cheaper and uses less power that is critical for an office setting. Unless of course the IT guy in Purchasing is a nitwit or a dumb fanboi (which is dangerous to have as a purchaser!)
