K10 available from newegg

Intel won't have this kind of technology until 2009, and that's only on paper. You can get it today from Newegg. Intel engineers often look at K10 with awe: they wonder how AMD can make such a complex CPU work flawlessly.

Be smart, be cool, use AMD K10 technology. Only idiots stick to retarded FSB.

If I read Sharidouche's OP again, it seems to me he recommends that companies keep dead weight around. You know if you are still a Windows 3.11 programmer, there is every reason to keep you around if you haven't even touched a 32 bit OS, let a lone a 64 bit OS before.

Amazing, that fucking moron has not a clue how big companies work, which is probably why he has this blog to make him feel better about the failure of AMD to beat Intel when it could have quite handily. Instead AMD continued its poor marketing and salesmanship, got lazy thinking Intel wouldn't make the changes it needed to, and quite frankly got hit by the Intel train as it got right back on the tracks.

Fuckwits like oneexpert can blather all they want about AMD being the best in the market, but its been proven time and time again that Intel has ruled the roost with the release of C2D. It doesn't matter how it is designed, all that matters it is currently beating the shit out of even AMD's top of the line processor with its new fangled Barcebalogna technologies.

Oneexpert and the fanbois like him are actually less useful than tits on a bull. Tits on a bull are actually kinda funny, you can laugh about it. The only thing funny about oneexpert and fanboi's like him is that they have lived as long as they have with as much brain damage as they have. I mean its rather serious damage to, just consider this list of symptoms:

1.) Completely ignore reality
2.) Lose the ability to think for oneself.
3.) Idolization of a complete moron, known liar and douchebag in general.
4.) Lack of typing ability, but that could be caused by the flipper hands too.
5.) Inablitity to look at the present.
6.) Total ignorance of the future and what it means in the technology world.
7.) Frothing at the mouth when people say the word Intel.
8.) Peeing the pants in fear when hearing the words Core2 Duo.
9.) Mistaking Jerry Sanders and Héctor Ruiz for gods.
10.) Less than Profound Mental Retardation level IQ's (in medical communities its known as being a Profound Moron, which on Wikipedia, amazingly has a link to oneexpert's posts here!)

Correctly designed Quad Core?

You really are a fucking moron aren't ya.

1.) Intel's quad design is currently outperforming AMD's quad design by a considerable margin.

2.) Inte's quad design is just as energy efficient as the AMD design. Except while under load where the Intel quad design is MORE POWER EFFICIENT than the AMD design.

3.) Intel's quad design is already making the transition to 45um something which AMD hasn't done. Hell they are still having issues transitioning to 65um!

Thus it seems to me Intel has the properly designed Quad Core.

Kinda shoots holes in your little fanboi delusional world doesn't it fuckwit?

As you said, Barcelona is a server CPU.. For me, thats not a matter if those server companies didn't want the HT3 boards. They still can upgrade their CPUs to Barcelonas at anytime they want because Barcelona support both HT2&HT3.. HT3 is designed to support DDR3. Nevertheless, for desktop parts, it will be interesting to see AMD Phenom running on the HT3 board.. rite? ;-)

I'd guess the IMC was scrapped at 386 because it was a waste of die space. That space could be used to improve processing speed which was much more important.

Some guy from AMD told me if you have a huge die you end up with shot to shit yields ;-)

It is all about balance. There is no point wasting space with a feature that is overly complex, ahead of it's time or unnecessary when another solution could use less space and perform just as well.

Let me remind you of Enron, a company with 21K employees and reported 111 billion in revenue and cited as "America's most Innovative Company" by Fortune.. Yup prove a companies worth by sales, revenue or awards...

Did you miss the already posted point that Barcelona's availability at Newegg is very strange given that their primary customer shouldn't be buying there.

It points to another failure on multiple points for AMD; late product, slow product, now product that can't be moved in primary distrubtion and sales chain.

AMD TOTALLY BEATS OUT intel...

The Athlon 64 X2 BE-2350 pulls less power than all of Intel's offerings. . AMD WINS the power game with the BE-2350. The margin of victory is great enough to get very excited about.

ONCE again AMD demonstrates superior technical know how with the BE-2350 super power saving hi performance cpu.

In anands mid range cpu report AMD stands alone providing best value and performance.

AMD builds the best dual core cpus and AMD builds the best quad core cpus.

intel tells us that AMDs barcelona is the best quad core because they plan to copy it soon with a knock off version called the nehalem knock off.
In fact, copytel plans to scrap all of there present designs and copy AMDs designs for there entire cpu line up.

Why buy knock offs when you can buy the original AMD superior cpus now and in the future.

Nobody wants or needs glued up pentium 3 antique relics.
You dont have to wait for copytel to knock off the BARCELONA or the superior AMD dual cores you can buy the AMD originals right now and in the future.

AMD has many, many , many years of experience with hypertransport design builds, copytel has no experience with modern designs.

Forget copytel, buy AMD and be happy.

BUY AMD hi performance, energy saving , low cost, great value, cpus, platforms, and video solutions.

The desperation is SO CLEAR, Barcelona launch was botched beyond belief, the lame attempt at marketing the 5000+ which even left AMDzoners at shock and now they can see that Phenom won't be as mighty as they had expected.

Poor little oneexpert is in a panic.

No more can he say AMD has the best performing CPU's because Intel has AMD beat:

1.) In the notebook market.
2.) In the desktop market.
3.) In the server market.
4.) In the multicore market.

Oh and it does it with a "glued together Pentium III".

Must suck to be sent to your room by mommy and have to see all those reviews of Barcelona getting beat by Intel's old technologies...

After you kill yourself in shame, the world can rejoice as the overall IQ will start going up again.

AMD estimates cut yet again:

http://www.eetimes.com/news/semi/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=202102862

''We believe the company's late Barcelona introduction and disappointing early performance are an early indication of a bad marriage of process technology and design that will be hard to fix before a move to 45-nm is required,'' said analyst Doug Freedman of American Technology Research Inc., in a new report.

''AMD still has a lot of work to do to fix the architectural mismatch of Barcelona with the 65-nm process node and the poor performance of R600,'' he said, referring to ATI's latest graphics chip. That chip is also late to the market.

In response, AMD is expected to move the attention over to a 45-nm version of the quad-core processor. ''We expect a shift in attention to AMD's 45-nm pilot results and demonstrations as early as December at the company's analyst event, where we believe it will be more important to deliver early 45-nm samples than a 2.5GHz Barcelona processor,'' he said.

''There is no doubt that new process and product designs increase the risk of success, but in this case it appears to be the only option and best way to regain competitive products,'' he said. However, ''Intel's execution/roadmap puts even more pressure on AMD to deliver 45-nm on time in summer 2008.''

As a result of the problems, Freedman lowered his estimates on AMD. ''We are lowering our Q3 revenue and EPS estimate to $1.529 billion and a loss of $0.62 from $1.557 billion and a loss of $0.58,,'' he said. ''For 2008, we now forecast revenue of $6.855 billion verses our prior expectation of $7.237 billion, with our net loss estimate lowered to $0.97 from $0.44.''

AMD is finished. Running of cash rapidly, and losses are expected to continue well into 2008 until BK.

BTW, AMD wasn't "copy catting" back in the 286/386/486 days. IBM required a second source of processors (to reduce risks if Intel had problems), and so AMD were manufacturing Intel designs under license.
