K10 will make Intel look foolish. The masters create not only a true quad core, but a true quad core with features so advanced that it will open a technology gap Intel will never be able to fill.

20.48 vs 17.13 in "relative speed" for Fritz
2454 vs 1896 in single cpu cinebench
15334 vs 13295 in mutli cpu cinebench
6.25x vs 7.01 cinebench scaling (78 vs 88 percent)
10.4s vs 10.6s for wprime 32m
310.9s vs 327.4s for wprime 1024m
As it is plainly clear, Barceloa is behind Harpertown on IPC. The only test Barcelona is better in is the cinebench scaling.
But, what's also important to note, is that this scaling advantage advantage will be decreased with the Harpertown CPUs that feature a 1.6Ghz bus, up from 1.33Ghz today. It's not much, but should be good for a few %. This is also accompanied by a transition to 800mhz memory, up from the 667mhz memory used today with the Bensley platform.

Yep. I can see where your coming from Sharikou. K10 is full of impressive features like shared cache and 128 bit SSE support! Such features are truly revolutionary.
And reality starts to sink in. Only 2ghz at launch, not 3ghz.
The fun will really start when the REAL third party benchmarks roll in.
At the very least AMD needs to best Intel's current products, if not, they're in deep shizzle.
This is the first bit of news that I believe, or at least hope I can believe. If true, Barcelona procs will be in the hands of people in the middle of September.

So Sharikou, what time zone was it shipping in August? You know that Germany is ahead of GMT so when you posted this, it was probably already NOT August anymore where AMD makes its chips.
Anyway, I've seen some preliminary benchmarks posted here, and while I'm reserving judgment for final ones from reputable sites, the whole 'AMD got 99 bazillion points in 3DMark and I'd show you but Intel stole my laptop!" line is not working on me at the moment.
Just remember that AMD is in vastly more desparate straits now than Inel was in 2006 when it produced all kinds of pre-release info on the Core Architecture. If AMD really was that confident we would have had massive amounts of information by the beginning of August at the latest. You fanboys can jump up and down all you want, but here's the truth:
1. Penryn is a small but noticeable IPC improvement to the already excellent Conroe.
2. Penryn's power usage is quite improved over Conroe.
3. Penryn will clock at least into the high 3 Ghz range and may touch 4Ghz in the extreme models. Witness Anandtech taking an early engineering sample to 3.2Ghz at stock voltage and this was not a 'hand picked' chip, it was a chip Intel didn't even want review sites to have!
4. AMD's own actions speak a billion times louder than Sharikou, onemolester, pezal, etc. ever will. AMD has stopped making outlandish claims about 'blowing away' the competition. AMD has yet to produce a single real benchmark of its CPUs. AMD has yet to let all the review sites get their hands on the K10s to run independent benchmarks.
When and if AMD actually starts getting chips to review sites and opens up about its problems, then AMD might begin turning things around. Sharikou & the retard-facist klan are AMD's worst enemies.
The preliminary benchmark shows nothing but fake. You'll only be able to see the true benchmark of K10 this September 10.
For your info Chuckula, AMD is not such stupid launching a new CPUs and than claiming it 40-85% faster over their old one but in reality it is actually slower even worse compare to the old one.. No they aren't!
If K10 manage to knock down the C2D of Intel by a large margin, than Intel better be prepared.. the 5% improvement of Penryn over C2D wont help to stop AMD from taking back the performance crown.. for sure..

So if all the preliminary benchmarks are fake that means the ones that you and Sharikou scream about that Intel needs a 6Ghz Core to compete with a K10 are fake too right? I'm not holding my breath to see even an ounce of honesty or integrity out of any of you.
Oh, and I don't care how much faster/slower K10 is than the K8 right now... AMD is going to release it because if AMD does not release anything at all it will lose EVEN MORE MONEY. When you are really in a terrible financial situation like AMD is, selling something and losing X is better than selling nothing and losing 2X.

I'm however not as optimistic for AMD as you are.
But yes lets wait for a final product and a wide range of tests before judging right?
