DELL deal that frags Pentium XE 965 in all benchmarks.

Now we know why AMD is losing half a Billion dollars each quarter. these must be X2's dell ordered 9 months ago. LOL. There must be a ton of these X2's in warehouses.

Dell must be having such a hard time selling these that maybe strapping a 19" LCD might make it slightly less undersirable.

Start at $399, take out $199 for the display and $100 for Windows.

You're left with an entire AMD dual core computer for $100.

Further proof AMD cpu's are junk.

Intel can get more for a single cpu as AMD can get fo an entire computer.

Oh, and Doctor? Since I posted the link to the Dell deal, proper credit would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Whoops, it appears I was wrong with those numbers.

Apparently Windows is $179, not $100.

Therefore an AMD computer is worth a whopping $21.

By using Bubba's logic,
MS selles it OEM for $5 a copy , the Tawainese guys are happy with $40 for the LCD , another $40 for the plastic ,metal and motherboard and Power Supply. Take out Dells cut of $100 each , this leaves the AMD CPU worth $200 ...by using Bubba;s logic only..

Conclusion - bubba u are an idiot , dont come back here. You sound like a true Intel fanboy are a 80yr old geezer holding on to some junk Intel stock

what a "Ph"ony deal from the "Ph"ony "D"octorate

Buy a 399 piece of crap with a crap CPU, but heah get a nice 19" LCD thrown in for free.

Dell must really be desperate to move these piss por CPUs.

Wonder why their aren't and Celeron deals? Because they sell themselves..

ANy wonder why once Dell starting selling AMD CPUS that their Marketshare started to drop like crazy and HP took the mover.

Once again with the Intel Graphics are unsuitable for Aero bullshit. Have you actually tested it? No you haven't, because like your ph.d, you make things up. Thus the name Sharidouche. I have a box sitting right here using Intel graphics and running...OMG AERO! Learn to verify things on your own before making idiotic claims....

$40 for an LCD? Hah! An OEM version of Windows costs more along the lines of $50. AMD is making next to nothing selling processors this cheap.

Most likely, Dell is far better businessman than the lot of the negativists at this blog. Dell has got you talking about the $399 computer and everyone else on the planet. The advertised sale has accomplished its main objective. Upgrades and shipping are not included. Dell will accomplish millions of dollars worth of free advertising from one web page.

My Corporate DELL guy, says AMD is selling like hotcakes!
They can't keep them on the shelves, and that is why they have even more AMD processor based systems coming (but he can't tell me)...
Just like they released their PowerEdge 2970 recently... it's all ready for Barcelona... That will Kick Intel's nads.
All DELL has to do is update the webpage, and off they go with Dual Quad Barcelonas whipping the Intel Quad Quads in the PowerEdge 6950!
HA!!

Is this why AMD is forced to sell dual core CPUs for $65? Is this why AMD and Dell's market shares are both dropping rapidly?

P.S. We know why Sun went with Intel for servers. In 2P servers Clovertown frags Opteron by 79%. http://tweakers.net/reviews/661/4

Um, the Intel 965 graphics, with the latest drivers are fully Vista Aero compatible.

How do I know?

I'm running Vista right now, with 965 graphics and Aero is working just fine.

My Dell rep tells me that Intel still sells about 80% more product than AMD within Dell. HP is a little closer, but the distance between the two is getting further apart in Intel's favour.

They can't keep them on the shelves

That proves you are a liar. Dell runs JIT, it doesn't have any inventory of anything to speak of.
