HP cheers DELL's AMD move

On DELL's AMD move, Mark Hurd, CEO of HP, commented that "It's a good thing for AMD to get critical mass," speaking Wednesday at Citigroup's 13th Annual Global Technology Conference in New York.

Translation: A weaker bully is good for everyone. As Intel loses more market share, it will have to lower prices for HP.

My translation: Intel will post operating losses for the next 7 quarters -- massive unit loss on top of market share loss. Do I need to reiterate my Intel BK projection?

No, you don't need to reitterate the BK of Intel :)

Everyone who has bussiness or relationship with AMD should be cheering about DELL+AMD.
The more average world see AMD sign the better the aknowledgement, more sales for amd.

OT: I read some time ago, that AMD with 65nm introduces SiGe.Is it true?
We all heard about IBM's 500Ghz(350Ghz in room temp) chip
:)

You don't need to reiterate your projection. It's getting boring, please try to come up with some more interesting stuff.

Critical Mass
1. The minimum quantity of fissile material required for a nuclear chain reaction. (See CHAIN REACTION, NUCLEAR WEAPONS)

2. The minimum amount of people with shared understanding or needs to tip the balance and instigate change.

Nuke Intel?

No need to reiterate the BK of intel. BECAUSE IT IS WRONG!

I own AMD stock, and am a fan of what they are doing. I also believe that over the long term, AMD has better products, and operates in a superior manner.

BUT

AS LONG AS AMD CAN ONLY SUPPLY 50% of the x86 market, Intel could charge 3X what they do now, and Intel would make money and people would HAVE to buy Intel, because they couldn't get an AMD. True, AMD would rake in the cash and become dominant, but Intel would NOT go backrupt.

BOTTOM LINE - your calls are normally good, but this BK thing is impossible, because, even if they were stupid enough to keep selling at a loss, as soon as they file chapter 11, the reorganization plan would have to include rational price increases.

I used to think it would be bad if Intel went bankrupt but no longer do so.Why? Because of the NAZI tactics
they adopt not only where marketing is concerned but also in suppressing free speech on the internet.Don't believe me? Try being pro AMD or anti Intel on Tomshardware and see!

In Folsom, Sacramento County, Intel will layoff around ~800 workers. That's crazy, and they said that they will replace those peole with other ones???

I have friend that works for Intel here in Folsom and he fears for his posesion. He works as an engineer.

Dear God in heaven, please no more Intel predictions. I don't care how often they go to Burger King.

Cheers!

AMD said they would put SiGe in 65nm as some others as well in production to enhance their aready superior SOI on DSL tech.

To other...
If you don't want to see it then don't read it. Its really not that hard. And even easier not to say anything at all.

It is what Tomshardware PRACTICE!
Since YOU are the one who doesn't know what's going on or is in denial, I shall leave ALL the medication FOR YOU!IF you ever recover, head over to THG and just try making a pro AMD or anti Intel posting and see.

Please enlighten me by what metrics their "SOI on DSL tech" is superior. Is it lower Tj? Faster transistor switching speed? Lower leakage? Better cell density? Better yield? Cooler sounding? Best use of TLAs in a sound bite? Do tell... inquring minds wish to know how we can determine superiority (of AMD's purchased from IBM technology- wouldn't that make it IBM's superior technology?) :)

No you don’t have to mention again that you think Intel will lose money for the next 7 quarters and go bankrupt thereafter. The reason for this is it won’t happen. First of all your understanding of the way a company works is lacking at best and your understanding about economics are missing completely. The strength of a coperation does not rely on how much cash it has in the bank. In fact one of the criteria’s for a successful coperation are the interest rate it can offer its shareholders and it is newer a goal for them to have a lot of money in the bank as the interest rate for this is not worth anything to the shareholders.

The other thing where you are so wrong is that you think Intel needs to layoff 80.000 people as they won’t be able to pay their salaries. The fast is that Intel is a much bigger company than AMD and they have many different product groups. So even if they didn’t sell a single CPU for a quarter they have income from several other areas. The third point is that the availability of the Core 2 duo CPU’s are actually quite good so your 400.000 pcs projection for this year I way to little and don’t forget that Intel is domination the laptop market. So there must be a lot of income coming to them even if the launch of core 2 has hurt the margins.

How can you accuse Intel of Nazi Tactics ? They would keep far from anything Nazi if they have to keep their so very dependable Israeli team.

AMD has all its fabs in Germany. It is more likely to adapt Nazi tactics.

Sharikou's hatred of Intel is some what Nazi like.

Just joking :)
