Intel share holders upset

At Intel's annual stock holder meeting, share holders aren't happy. One share holder likes to see someone fired, another wants more dividend because he can't sell the stock, one asks why Intel increased its head count by 20,000 and now needs to downsize. I can give the answer to the dividend question, Intel doesn't have any money left for more dividends.

One share holder asks about power efficiency. Intel CEO Paul Ottellini says that he sees that AMD billboard everyday on the way to work and he hopes that the clock will reverse when Woodcrest launches in June.

However, judging from AMD's recent release of energy efficient desktop CPUs, AMD is not sitting idle and Socket F Opteron will be introduced in June with system availability in July. BTW, the Opteron HEs are at 55 watts today.

"I don't think I have ever seen this kind of competitive dislocation," said Joe Osha, senior director at Merrill Lynch, adding that "Intel really showed up with a knife to a gun fight in servers and desktops."

Thank goodness the share holders had not seen Apple's latest MacBook.

This pitiful beast ships with the worst keyboard made in the last 10 years. Perhaps since the PCjr.

The MacBook is a Frankenstein of Intel inside producing so much heat that the laptop only runs 30 minutes without frying:

and a genuine Apple total crap ergonomic design. Poor keyboard, poor trackpad, one button, and a cheap screen with a narrow viewing angle.

Everything with Intel inside is pretty much the worst you can buy.

No wonder the shareholders are upset. They know there's no way a bunch of Isreal chips are going to save the company.

Blame Apple's misuse of thermal paste for the heat. Once you use a thin layer it gets much cooler. Luckily Apple used the best power-efficient x86 processor ever made, had they used a Turion it would have killed people.
