In a 38 page complaint, China's WAPI consortium accuses Intel and IEEE of unethical, unfair, irresponsible and unacceptable behaviour in rigging the ISO voting for the China proposed WAPI wireless standard.

The problem here is not Intel, but the sense of western superiority. Who in the western world in his right mind would want to approve any Chinese standard? I mean come on, any American company in Intel's position would have done the same thing.
BTW, standards as we all know has much more political than technical merit.
Maybe the Chinese have a point just as AMD v's Intel have, standards should be more important than political posturing.

So far the Jews of the West appear to be winning. China is getting railroaded into becoming one giant tar pit and is accepting IOUs for the goods that its sweatshops produce.
When the USA defaults, and that day is coming ever closer, those holding worthless paper are going to look quite foolish indeed. The same people that did 9/11 are going to do a number on China that will make 9/11 look like a cheesy Hollywood movie.
As for China's WAPI spec, come on. More than likely, the Chinese just copied and pasted WAPI from a US standard/spec, so of course it was shitted on by the worldwide standards groups. Maybe one day in the far future the phrase "Chinese innovation" will be something more than an oxymoron. But not today.

This is taken out of context. The reason the Chinese WAPI wasn't accepted was they didn't give all the details of how is works and there where obvious holes. The Chinese WAPI kept parts secret and when reviewers try to get clarification and they get blank then of course no one will adopt something they can't test or verify. So now the Chinese cry foul. Lookup the reasons why it wasn't adopted first before you believe the headline.
I would hate to see the standards committee start setting standards based on government politics.

Someone has big problem understanding the real world here. Why would "the same people that did 9/11" do the same thing on China? I mean come on, Chinese didn't send troups to bomb their cities and kill their families. It's more likely for CIA or Whitehouse to 9/11 China than any other people.
Anyway, this has little to do with WAPI standards, and the way you talk about it only shows your poor comprehension of the world reality.

Alas! These guesses of yours are only as good as a comic book. As someone below you had said, WAPI was not accepted because it was not fully disclosed, not that it was a copy.
After the release of 802.11g and with the coming of future standards (WiMAX etc), however, WAPI is quickly becoming irrelevant.
